The Spring Market is here! The good news is, NH home buyers are active and anxious to find homes. The bad news is, there aren’t enough listings to meet buyer demand. As you work your way through the busy season, here’s our version of the NH Agent’s Guide to Working the Spring Market.
Respond to Inquiries Immediately
Buyers are impatient. If you receive a call, email, or lead, don’t wait. Call ASAP. Even delaying by a few minutes can result in loss of business. If you don’t respond immediately, it’s likely your potential customer will contact other agents.
When it gets busy, there’s simply less time to address all of the tasks at hand. You should find ways to be more efficient in communicating with your customers, such as emailing, text messaging, and using electronic documents. However, be sure you understand your customers’ communication preferences.
Don’t Be Pushy
Sure, you understand how competitive this market is and want buyers to know that they should act quickly. However, it’s important not to be pushy in your attempt to instill a sense of urgency in your buyer clients. Being pushy can backfire. Although real estate agents are “salespersons”, your role really isn’t to convince buyers to purchase a home. It’s to help guide them through the process of buying a home that THEY want to purchase.
Create a Balance
During a busy real estate market, it’s easy to get wrapped up in work and forgo your personal life. For your health and well-being, it’s important to have some balance between work and personal time. Whether it’s to spend time with family, go for a walk, or spend some alone time, it’s important to take a break from work both mentally and physically.
With low inventory and high demand, you must look for ways to help your clients stand out against the competition. So, it’s time to be creative. Think about different strategies and approaches, such as including a personal letter with a buyer’s offer.
